Partnering with a large corporation is like working with a complicated
3-D puzzle that's hurtling through space. It's a multi-level, multi-faceted
living system, and the solutions that are designed and installed
must be fluid and flexible enough to stretch and grow with the demands
of the system. At Parallax, we don't think about what we do as work-for-hire.
We think about it as getting results-solving the sometimes daunting
challenges our clients are faced with.
I've been working with corporations to help them meet organizational
challenges since 1990. Our first project was a customer service
seminar for American Airlines' 20,000 airport employees. I jumped
right in with both feet and for sure it was baptism by fire. But
it went well as you'll see if you check out their listing in the
Our Clients section, they were delighted with the results
and we've worked with them several times over the years.
Since then, I've also had the honor and privilege of working with
some of the best and brightest companies in business today: Pfizer,
Ameritech Cellular, American Express, Corning, Nike, and American
Linen. In my tenure as Executive Vice President for Client Solutions
at Ridge Associates, I worked with many other Fortune 500 companies.
I've been told that the most valuable asset I bring is penetrating
clarity. That is, I am able to quickly assess the situation and
then find the best way through what can seem like an impenetrable
thicket. We (the client and Parallax) come out on the other side
with a new way of looking at the issue and a good idea about how
to communicate that new vision to the troops.
I am the founder, the leader, and the 'voice' of Parallax. I still
do most of the selling in our organization. I do it because our
clients are our business, and our success is intimately tied to
their success. In my 'spare time' I work with our business partners
(both internal and external), oversee legal and financial issues
associated with Parallax, and keep and eye on our sister company
Periolatpictures.
My creed is pretty simple: Tell the truth and deliver what you've
promised. It's still about relationships on a one-to-one level.
It isn't any simpler or any more complex than that.
