Here are the people in your company who really feel the pressure
of producing results. They do the impossible, often with inadequate
resources and very little preparation. It is no surprise that they
soon become burned up, burned out, and too stressed to fulfill their
assignments.
We help supervisors, who frequently come from the ranks of those
they supervise, succeed in their new roles. Being a stellar individual
contributor isn't enough preparation for a promotion to supervising
others. New skills are required. Supervisors need to learn how to
hold their former peers accountable while maintaining the motivation
that drives productivity and keeping morale high. And they need
to accomplish this without weakening their responsibility to senior
management. They need to lead, to inspire, to articulate, to plan,
and all too often still contribute as an individual. Whew!
